Fall Touch Rugby in Alexandria

Fall and Winter are the off-season for youth rugby in Virginia - but that doesn't stop us from playing! Fall touch rugby in Alexandria runs from Sept 6 to Nov 8 each Saturday afternoon. It's a great chance for the kids to just play rugby and not spend so much time with drills and other "boring stuff!", as they like to say. We instruct on the fly and let the kids play as much as possible.

Our Fall Fun League meets at 3:00pm each Saturday afternoon at 4-Mile Run Park, 4115 Mount Vernon Ave., on the Alexandria/Arlington border and is open to girls and boys ages 6 to 16.

Cost is just $30 per player with family discounts available.

Registration is now open via our online registration system.

AR Supports Kelley Cares Foundation Playground Build

Alexandria Rugby held a fundraiser at Daniel O'Connell's Restuarant in Old Town on March 15th in support of the special needs playground project being developed by the Kelley Cares Foundation and Alexandria Miracle League for the city's Therapuetic Recreation Program office. For the fourth consecutive year AR used the final day of the annual 6 Nations rugby tournament to help another worthy cause. Past recipiects have included the Christchurch, New Zealand earthquake relief effort, the Alexandria Miracle Field project and the Center for Alexandria's Children.

The fundraising coincided with the final round matches of the storied European rugby championship tournament that O'Connell's broadcasts live throughout the day. The first match of the day kicked-off at 8:30am and the last at 1:00pm. European nationals and American rugby fans from around the area gather at O'Connell's to watch the matches and enjoy the commoraderie of the greater rugby community. AR is again pleased to be able to give back to the community and support those with special needs.
