Thanks to all who participated in this year's raffle.

The 2009 Mayor's Cup Raffle (raffle), a week-long Caribbean sailing vacation, is being conducted by Alexandria Rugby, Inc., (AR) a community-based non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, to benefit the Mayor's Cup Rugby Challenge Match and select AR programs that support the establishment and promotion of youth rugby in Alexandria. AR is solely responsible for managing all aspects of the raffle.

The following rules apply to the raffle:

The Mayor's Cup Raffle will begin on January 24, 2009 and end on May 30, 2009.

No more than 4000 chances will be sold. Ticket sales will cease when that number is reached.

Price per chance is $10.00 payable by check, or cash. One ticket is equivalent to one chance. Checks payable to "Alexandria Rugby" . Checks that are returned for insufficient funds or other reasons will disqualify any ticket(s) covered by such check. Raffle purchases are not tax-deductible under IRS guidelines.

First Prize is seven days and six nights for two aboard a chartered sailboat based on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, or $4000 in cash - winner's decision. Prize also includes airfare vouchers totaling $1000 for travel to and from Tortola, BVI. Trip specifics are as follows: Charter to be arranged through The Moorings, and include accomodatons for two people with captain and mate/chef. Winner to contact the charter company to arrange for the trip. Alexandria Rugby will arrange for trip payment with The Moorings. The charter company will arrange for air travel to and from Tortola, BVI on carrier to be determined. The sail will depart Tortola and make a circuitous trip around the British Virgin Islands, returning to original port of departure. Additonal nights stay on either front or back end of sail are the responsibility of winner. On board food and beverages included in prize. Crew gratuity not included and is responsibility of winner.

Second Prize: Prepaid certificate for a two night stay for two people at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's, Maryland. Stay specifics are: room and breakfast for two on two consectutive Sunday through Thursday nights between between June 15, 2009 and December 1, 2009 as availability permits, excluding holidays. Winner to arrange visit directly with Inn at Perry Cabin.

There shall be no substitution for the listed prizes.

The officers and directors of Alexandria Rugby, Inc., and the spouses and dependent children of same are ineligible to participate.

Drawing to be held at half-time of the Mayor's Cup Rugby Challenge Match on May 30, 2009.

All tickets must be purchased by kick-off of the Mayor's Cup Rugby Challenge Match on May 30, 2009.

Winners need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or email in timely manner.

The raffle is open to anyone, 18 years of age or older, wishing to purchase a raffle ticket.

In the event that at least 1000 raffle chances have not been purchased by the closing of business on May 15, 2009, Alexandria Rugby, Inc. reserves the right to cancel the above listed prizes and conduct a 50/50 drawing for one winner. The winner in such an event will recieve 50% of the total received in the raffle, net of expenses. The remaining proceeds will go to Alexandria Rugby, Inc.. The decision to proceed as a 50/50 drawing shall be made and announced publicly on or before May 16, 2009.

All sales are final and no refunds shall be made at any time. Participants acknowledge that their purchase of a ticket does not guarantee that they will win any prize.
