While Alexandria Rugby does not sponsor a veterans (over 35) program of our own we have recently developed a relationship with a new club, the Alexandria Roosters. Formerly the Old French International Team, the Roosters have sought out Alexandria as a home in large measure due to the support Mayor Euille and the Recreation Department has shown rugby. We look forward to partnering with the Roosters on everything from fundraisers to youth program coaching.
The Roosters have a large French contingent that has recently been infused with a gaggle of Kiwis and Americans, making it a true international squad.
Other clubs with members that live in and around Alexandria are listed in the links below. Many of these players have been very supportive of Alexandria Rugby over the years and we hope to continue the good work that they expect from us.
Most of the local games are played on Sunday afternoons in the spring and fall, with many happening right down the GW Parkway from Old Town at Gravelly Point.
Old Boy rugby is a terrific way to keep in shape, keep in touch and keep giving back to our great sport.
